        And so, what happened?

      • It is inoperable mike7sedona. She will have to have chemo. Our main aim now is to get her home where she is happiest with her little cat Ditty and where she feels my late Dad is.

That wasn’t expected and chemo is rather uncertain as far as the side effects are concerned! But, the treatment has to go on, as prescribed, because the doctors know what’s good for her. Once she’s back home, perhaps her condition might really change for the better due to the presence of her loved ones; love and good olde memories of loved ones can perform wonders unlike medicine – let’s hope and pray for her good health!

      • Hi mike7sedona. The big meeting happened yesterday with the oncologist, cancer nurses and other specialists and my brother and his wife. My dear Mum has refused chemo and she is adamant. We are all doing our best now, including Mum to get her home asap as that is where she will feel happiest as you say. It is terribly upsetting beyond belief atm but we have to respect her wishes. She believes that when she passes she will be reunited with my Dad and that is what she wants more than anything so all we can do is comfort her as much as we can and the medics will give palliative care. We just need to get her home.

I can easily understand what she must be going through as I have personally experienced such situations in my own life when relatives, including my parents, were going through similar experiences. Yes, let her be back home soon and be comfortable in familiar happy surroundings. Leave the rest to the doctors and trust in God for everything good – let us continue to pray for her good health!

      • She is now way too poorly to transport 50 miles home now mike7sedona. 😦

Perhaps, you got to wait a little more until she picks up enough strength for the 50-miles journey, and the thought of resting and relaxing in the presence of her loved ones will surely strengthen her body and spirits to return home at the earliest.

      • Hey mike7sedona great news! Mum had picked up a little yesterday and it was one of the most positive visits of recent days. Anyhow, she has received intravenous antibiotics to fight the new infections and also pain relief which bought back the Mum I know. Even if this is only temporary, if its enough to get her home then YIPPEE! We are all pulling out all the stops to now get her home to rest and be ‘happier’.

Happy to know about Mum’s progress and the pain relief! Yes, it should help her in returning home soon to rest and be ‘happier’ and that’s all that matters! 🙂

      • Great news Sheldon…..due to intravenous fluids, pain relief and antibiotics it seems she has picked up enough to be able to get her home. We are all doing everything possible to make that happen. Although we realise it is due to the interventions, if it gets her to her place of safety, love and comfort that is all that matters. Thank you for your wishes Sheldon.

    Upon the sands I walk
    To quiet my active mind
    It’s the sound of ocean
Or the breeze of the wind
    Just a quiet walk
    This is my only time
    Upon the sands I walk
    Unto this active mind

    • Thank you soooooo much Sheldon. I have never had a poem written for me before. I am totally dumbstruck. How appropriate on a morning like this. Very big day today and not in the best way, so I will read and digest your words as they are very soothing indeed. Cant thank you enough, really chuffed.
